When you run a scan we receive the brand name and domain you type, along with any words you enter to separate your brand from others. We store your IP address so we can count free scans and stop one person using the whole allowance.
If you create an account we store your email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store the password itself and cannot read it.
If you subscribe to a paid plan, your card details go directly to our payment provider and never reach our servers. We keep only an identifier that tells us which customer you are and which plan you are on.
Your brand name and domain are sent to our search data provider, which is what finds the mentions and backlinks. They receive the search terms only. They do not receive your email address or your account details.
Scan results are stored for 24 hours so that running the same scan again returns instantly instead of searching a second time. If you have an account and save a report, we keep it until you delete it.
We do not sell your data, and we do not pass your email to anyone for marketing.
We rely on a small number of third-party providers to run the service: for search and backlink data, for sending email, for processing payments, and for hosting. Each receives only what it needs to do its job and nothing more, and none of them receives your data for their own marketing.
We set one cookie, to keep you signed in. There is no advertising or analytics tracking on this site.
Scan results expire after 24 hours unless you save them. IP records used for counting free scans are cleared after 24 hours. Account details stay until you close the account, at which point we delete them along with your saved reports.
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Deleting your account removes your saved reports too, and that cannot be undone.
Write to omar@sandstormdigital.com with any question about your data, including a copy, a correction, or deletion. A real person reads it.
